South Lawson Park Project |
|||||||
On the 27th of October our club planted 15 trees at South Lawson Park with the assistance of the City of Poquoson. This park was recently expanded with the inclusion of several soccer fields. This is the first of many projects at the Poquoson Lions have taken on the continued improvement of the park which will eventually include a playground, picnic facilities and even toilet facilities. The lions which participated included Mark Moncure, Kathy Feigh, Keith Feigh, Fred Lowack, Al Moor, Dan Lange, Bruce Edwards, Chris Hartman, Debby Clotfelter, Noel Talcott and Ray Carmines along with several others from the community who volunteered their time. |

Continued Work At Lawson Park |
|||||||
Wanted to report that seven Lions were at South Lawson Park on November 13th to continue our beautification project. We helped Dominion Power where we could with their bollard project, then we installed two new Trex benches that we received from our plastic bag recycling efforts. We put one down by the pond and the other by the swing sets. After that we walked the park picking up any trash we could find. Public Works took the trash bags away for us. Lion Kathy will check to see why the benches we received from Trex are different.The bollards installed by Dominion Power really make the park look nice as the pictures show. Dominion Power had about 18 workers present. Before lunch, we went and retrieved tables and chairs from Parks & Rec and took them to the park so we'd would have a place to sit for lunch. Farm Fresh brought food for everyone and after lunch we returned the tables and chairs to P&R. Present today were:
Ray Yannello,
Bob Boddy,
Bruce Edwards,
Ed Harper,
Keith Feigh |
