Welcome to the Poquoson Lions Club Web Site
On behalf of the men and women of the Poquoson Lions Club I'd
like to welcome you to our humble web site. We hope this site provides
the appropriate background information of what the Lions are all about,
as well as an easy way to contact us if interested in joining. We are
always looking for people who have a heart to serve this community
through a variety of popular events. This site also provides a calendar
of events, our monthly newsletter, club committees, as well links to
other useful Lions websites and information.
While we concentrate our service projects on sight and hearing
conservation, diabetes awareness and youth activities; we have responded
to the needs of individuals as well as our whole community when
adversity strikes. Our past efforts have included artifical limbs, eye
exams & surgery, handicap ramps, and basic subsistance for individual
members of the community at large. We welcome any request for
assistance and will endeavor to help or find the help that is required
to alleviate those in need. We are a part of this community, and many
of our projects have become ingrained in our citizens as events to look
forward to each year.
Our regular meetings are at 6:30 PM in the Community Center on
the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, but please check our calander to
ensure we are actually meeting and not off on a special project or other
special event. There is tremendous fellowship in this club. Nothing is
more satisfying than knowing that your volunteer efforts have made a
difference in another's life. Poquoson is a generous community, we will
strive to continue our legacy that is behind our motto of "We Serve".
